Junior Fashion Designers
Age group : 10 years & above
Cost :$300
Children get introduced to the process of fashion design and learn how technology is integrated in design. They use a garment of their choice and recreate its design. They also make a course-end portfolio presentation.
Following items needs to be brought by the students :
- Tape measure
- Clear Ruler- if possible this kind ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/C-THRU-BY-WESTCOTT-B-85-Ruler-Plastic-Lined-16ths-18in-Transprnt/48084405)
- Mouse or Stylus Pad and pen ( if they own). Mouse is a must. No drawing with fingers on track pad.
- A garment that you would like to redesign. Preferably shirts, tops, skirts, shorts and short skirts. Please to avoid dresses, long skirts or full length pants
About the teacher :
Anu Parikh is a professional fashion designer with 15 years of experience in the New York Fashion Industry. She studied at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and LaSalle International Fashion school in Singapore.
She has worked for several companies for various national brands in Apparel and Footwear which are sold across all major retail stores in the United States.
She currently freelances for a footwear company in their Girls division. She also takes on projects for other companies on a contract basis.
